GRADES 4-8
U Can Be Heroes, designed using the integrated workings of the body as a model, brings pre-teens a heart-based education on essential behaviors and values for creating more health and harmony in themselves and in the world around them.
Grades 4-8
U CAN BE HEROES
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
For each grade, the program comes with biweekly, fast, fun and simple to implement lesson plans that can be mixed in with your regular school schedule. Each lesson comes with a non-fiction book, student and teacher cards, storybooks, discussion prompts and a video series.
Non-Fiction Books
Happiness in Schools, Cool School Rules, for fourth and fifth graders, and How to Be Happy for Kids (And Adults) for seventh and eighth graders, give students a fun and captivating look at nine essential behaviors and four shared needs.
Student and Teacher Cards
Each of the nine behaviors and four shared needs comes with student and teacher cards to help develop students' understanding and connection to the character traits and shared needs being taught. As each behavior and each body part (that shares a functional similarity to the behavior) are introduced, a picture of parts to wholes begins to unfold.
Short Stories and Poems
These short stories/poems, playful, fun and uplifting, are designed to engage the hearts and minds of all ages about many of the different issues they face as individuals. Each story comes with a discussion prompt to foster engagement and discussion on relevant soul moving topics.
GRADES 9-12
By engaging young adults hearts and minds with a revolutionary approach to matters of character, we awaken them to discover and to cultivate their best selves. By doing so, young adults are empowered to create alignment, wholeness and harmony for themselves and others.
Here's a sneak peek into the character-building lessons that await you:
-
Caring and the Heart: Discover the beautiful connection between being caring and the heart's function of giving and receiving nourishment.
-
Thoughtfulness and the Brain: Awaken to the power of care-filled thinking reflected in the brain's workings in the body.
-
Responding Well and the Nerves: Explore the nature of responding well, drawing inspiration and insight from the role of the nerves.
-
Teamwork and the Tendons: Learn how the power of teamwork works much like the nature of how the tendons work in our body.
-
Individuality and the Bones: Embrace your unique self, just as our bones provide structure and individuality to our body.
-
Sensitivity and the Senses: Learn the importance of the senses and how feeling, seeing, and hearing can lead us to caring actions.
-
Meaningfulness and the Muscles: Uncover the impact of making a difference, akin to the strength and purpose of our muscles.
Each behavior is thoughtfully and purposefully connected to a specific body part, creating a truly engaging and insightful experience for both parents and children.
Enriched with comprehensive lesson plans, interactive activities, captivating storybooks, and motivating rewards, U CAN BE HEROES offers a total of ten lessons per grade.
Teachers will be engaged and encouraged by groundbreaking character-building lessons that help them foster an environment of growing in balance. Children, middle schoolers, and young adults will blossom while exploring the fascinating links between behavior and body functions.
Join us in shaping a brighter future, several behaviors joined together, action upon action upon action.
U CAN BE HEROES
Grades 9-12
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
For Grades 9-12, the lessons move beyond the nine essential behaviors and four shared needs to include attitude and character traits. Students are engaged in exploring parts to a whole, healthy society. The high school program aims to have students recognize and value the role that attitude, behavior and character play in their ability to actualize and fulfill their unique potential.
Non-Fiction Books
Separate books for each of the grades help students to learn about the many essential qualities that are necessary for wholeness and harmony. We can apply the ready-made laws of nature present in the body to other spheres. When we extend the functions of the body to the behavioral sphere we discover a path to behavioral wholeness.
The Game - Game On
A book for high school seniors. What is the law of alignment or the law of harmony? By extending the laws of nature that exist in the body, we can make new advances in other spheres. The governing laws of nature in the body, when extended to the behavioral sphere, suggest that there are essential elements that work together to create harmony and wholeness in our lives. Seniors explore this possibility by reading and partaking in the book The Game.
Constitution of the Individual
and Society
Just like our United States Constitution established our laws and the rights of the citizens so that we might have a better chance to live in peace together, the natural constitution of our body offers us a beautiful blueprint that reveals how each of us has within ourselves the qualities for wholeness. Students use these constitutions throughout the program as guides for their class discussions as well as for written assignments.
